Prospect, develop relationships and provide service to customers in the entire selling experience including explaining equipment available, discussing rental pricing, and solving customer problems. Provide a quality service that exceeds the customer’s expectations. Additionally, the Outside Sales Rep will assist other rental employees in servicing customers and will deliver equipment to customer site when necessary.
Essential Functions:
- Work with customers on the selection and use of their equipment to ensure satisfaction for all parties.
- Use selling techniques and tools to close sales effectively and gain referral business.
- Act as contact for the customer through entire process from reservation to use to return, including in some cases delivery and pickup of the equipment.
- Communicate with the customer at each stage of the project from conceptualization to completion.
- Assist with collections of accounts receivables for customer accounts.
- Convey a professional and courteous appearance at all times.
- Work to increase the overall rental revenue levels of stores in territory.
- Must still cover the inside counter when not in the field.
- Motivated to exceed sales goals in order to bring the highest value to the organization.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment and the rental market.
- Ability to multi-task and manage own time efficiently and accurately.
- Sensitivity to problems; ability to determine when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
- Must have excellent customer relation skills.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
