Pre-Owned Equipment Sales Representative

General Summary of the Position:

Develop relationships and provide service to customers in the entire selling experience for used equipment including prepping equipment for sale, marketing equipment on the Pro Star and outside websites, promoting the sales options at all Pro Star stores, offering financing, discussing pricing, and completing transactions.  Provide a positive experience that exceeds the customer’s expectations.  Additionally, the Used Equipment Sales Rep will assist other rental employees in transferring equipment between stores when necessary. 

Essential Functions:
 
  1. Develop customer base for used equipment sales.
  2. Use selling techniques and tools to close sales effectively and gain referral business.
  3. Become proficient in the entire online marketing process.  (adding photos and descriptions online, developing online sales channels, finding customers online, etc.)
  4. Travel to all Pro Star sites to take photos of equipment for website and promote the sales channel.
  5. Communicate with the customer at each stage of the sales process, including financing through our third-party financial vendors if necessary.
  6. Convey a professional and courteous appearance at all times.
  7. Develop sources for wholesale purchases of used equipment that can be re-sold at a retail price.
  8. Manage inventory of used equipment to achieve targets for overall value and inventory turns.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
 
  1. Motivated to exceed sales goals in order to bring the highest value to the organization.
  2. Strong knowledge of construction equipment and the used equipment market.
  3. Ability to multi-task and manage own time efficiently and accurately.
  4. Sensitivity to problems and knowledge of safety practices for using and transporting equipment; ability to determine when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
  5. Must have excellent customer relations skills.
  6. Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  7. Ability to work flexible hours.
